1 ANCIENT EGYPTIANS Kiana

2  The Ancient Egyptians were One of the most important civilizations of the past.  They were famous for Tombs, monuments, mummification and pyramids.  The Ancient Egyptians lived Along the banks of the River Nile.  They lived Around 5000 BC. INTRODUCTION

3 THE RIVER NILE  The Nile flows through Africa.  It is 6000km long.  The river Nile was used for crops.  It produced fish and good soil.

4 FARMING  The farmers grew wheat, barley, vegetables, figs, melons, pomegranates and vines.  They also grew flax which was made into linen for clothes.

5 Seasons  The Ancient Egyptians had three seasons.  In Akhet there were floods everywhere.  In Peret they planted the crops.  In Shemu all the crops were cut.

6 HIEROGLYPHS  Hieroglyphs are pictures which the Ancient Egyptians used as writing.  The Ancient Egyptians wrote on Papyrus reed, which is marsh plant with tall straight hollow stems.  We know how to translate hieroglyphs writing because of the Rosetta stone.

7 THE EGYPTIAN GODS  Bas is the goddess of Protection,joy,love,pleasure and pregnant woman.  Anubis is the god of Mummification.

8 EGYPTIAN ANIMALS  They were food but also kept as pets.  They believed the animals were used for symbols.  Cats were both pets and gods the most important cat was Bastet.  They believed that scarabs associated with the Egyptian god, Khepri.
