3 How do we decide what our training topics will be ? Top level legislative and regulatory requirements (Ex. FERPA and Violence Against Women Act.) Institutional documents that drive decision making (Ex. Strategic plan and mission of the college) Top level initiatives that require a training component (Ex. ERP) Data collected from college community (Ex. Employee and student survey data) Data collected specifically for training input (Ex. Needs assessment) Budgets, grants and other sources of funding

4 These are the three top-level domains that guide our analysis: People: Those things having to do with interpersonal interactions and conducting business in an atmosphere of trust, professionalism and respect Business: The knowledge and application of campus practices, policies and procedures within the operational environment of the College Technology: The utilization of tools, software and other technologies to increase our effectiveness as employees. 7 This graph represents the percentage of people surveyed that identified this training category as their number on priority.

8 When the key concepts are further broken down into more defined topics, the analysis revealed that these were the topics with top priority. Cohort based programs (LEAD, QuESST) Instructor-Led courses Independent Learning Opportunities Other resources ABC Sign Up The electronic tool Daytona State College uses for posting open learning events, to manage the registration process for those events and to record completion history for attending those events. A searchable interface or you can browse by category or time frame. All employees have access. Create your account once by entering your portal credentials, then register for events and see your training history on-demand.
