4 In 1963 there were many events in the civil rights movement that took place in Birmingham, Alabama to try and correct this unfair separation of people and services Martin Luther King being arrested for civil protest at a lunch counter

5 Police officers used Dogs to deter protesting civil rights activists in Birmingham

6 The police even used fire hoses to deter the protesters in birmingham
