Did you know that there was more causes to the Revolutionary War than the Boston Tea Party? There are actually 7 main causes that lead to the Revolutionary War. The British Parliament made acts and laws that lead to the Revolutionary War.

King George III drew a line on a map and told the colonists that they couldn’t cross it. The colonists were upset because they thought that the king didn’t have the right to tell them where to live. As a result the colonists moved on west ignoring the proclamation.

The colonists were upset about the Stamp Act because they didn’t get to vote. In the Stamp Act you had to buy a stamp every time they bought something that had writing on it. The British were responsible for the Stamp Act.

The Townshend taxed glass, tea, lead, paint, and paper. Again the colonists were upset because they didn’t get to vote. As a result the colonists boycotted British goods.

Did you know that the Boston Massacre wasn’t really a massacre? The Boston Massacre started with an icy snowball. 5 colonists died in the Boston Massacre.

The Tea Act This was another tax on tea. Again the colonists thought it was unfair because they didn’t get to vote. The colonists once again boycotted British goods.

The Boston Tea Party started by having a tax on tea. As a result the colonists dressed up as Mohawk Indians and threw the tea into the Boston harbor. Surprisingly after they where done they swept the decks and fixed a broken padlock they broke!

The Intolerable Acts was when the king punished the colonists by closing the Boston Port until the tax was paid for and many more. The British called these the Coercive Acts but the colonists called these the Intolerable Acts. These acts where made in 1774.

Now You Know There where 7 main causes that led to the Revolutionary War. All of these events played a part in dividing the colonists and the British. The colonist’s won the war and we became the U.S.A
