Adjectives Adjective is a word that describes a noun or a pronoun. French adjectives agree in gender (masculine or feminine) and in number (singular or plural) with the nouns or pronouns they modify

Agreement In general, the feminine singular is formed by adding an (e) to the end of the basic masculine form. Examples 1. petit -- petite (short) 2. grand-- grande (tall) 3. joli -- jolie (pretty)

Agreement (2) If the adjective in its basic masculine form already ends in an (e), there is no change. Examples 1. Rouge - rouge (red) 2. Pauvre - pauvre (poor) 3. Jeune - jeune (young) 4. Malade - malade (sick)
