3 OBJECTIVES OF FTX To enhance confidence and mutual understanding among ARF participants in the context of multinational disaster relief operation in the region. To conduct and apply life-saving methodologies in term of search and rescue. To orchestrate activities and involvement of various multinational SAR teams to improve their efficiency and effectiveness. To encourage all humanitarian entities to be part of an organized coordination system in order to increase actual disaster response capabilities for future missions. 9 SCENARIO The disaster have resulted approximately 1.2 million internally displaced population across Malaysia. 6 hrs after the incidents, Malaysian Govt. requested international assistance through AHA 12 hrs after the incidents, ARF confirmed assistance to the Malaysian National Focal Point (NFP) together with the deployment of ERAT and UNDAC Within 72 hours after the incidents, AMS and ARF participants lend assistance by sending in experts, equipment, physicians, and engineer corp to the affected areas. 26 Exercise Conduct – FTX The FTX will demonstrate search and rescue capabilities that integrate medical, engineering and chemical response elements, and test the Incident Command Structure (ICS) in order: To show ARF integrated SAR capabilities and identify any gaps and challenges in the ICS that require strengthening and/or remedial action.
