RSD Priorities and Objectives Objective 1: Attract, Recruit, & Retain Highly Effective Staff Strategies: Align recruiting and hiring process to Adopted Standards of Professional Practice. Provide relevant and differentiated professional development and supports for new employees. Offer expanded career pathways for employees. Provide competitive compensation packages. Priority #2: Support and Develop Our Human Resources A highly effective professional team that prioritizes student growth, values collaboration and seeks continuous growth and improvement.

Dedicate time for employee job-embedded professional development. Secure grants to fund on-going and relevant professional development. Strategies: Ensure alignment of all district initiatives to the Standards of Professional Practice for licensed and administrative employees. Assign effective instructional leaders at all schools to support employee development, growth and accountability. RSD Priorities and Objectives Objective 1: Judiciously steward entrusted public funds. Strategies: Work toward budgeting a structurally balanced budget that matches recurring revenues with recurring expenditures. Continue to implement the Board’s policy of budgeting for and managing to a General Fund unassigned ending fund balance of 5% of actual revenues. Evaluate and adjust that level as necessary. Enhance financial management practices to strengthen the District’s credit profile and stability as measured by the District’s credit rating. Priority #4: Balance Resources to Maximize Student Achievement Wise, transparent stewardship of district resources that are prioritized for student achievement.

Strategies: Reflect the input and priorities of all District stakeholders in the long-range financial plan. Shift the focus of the annual budget and negotiation process from incrementalism to results and outcomes that align with the District’s Achievement Compact. Strategies: Improve the communication of financial information to stakeholders to engage participation and understanding. Keep up-to-date and simple communications flowing to stakeholders.
