2 I DENTIFY S TRATEGIES The Goal is to develop strategies that will permeate what will be done as an organization.  The need to reflect the realities of the external environment  The need to reflect Mission and Vision for our agencies  The need to reflect our values as an organization

3 I DENTIFY V ALUES 1. Create a healthier community “Provide the right service to the right person at the right time.” “Provide the right resources to the right staff person at the right time.” 2. We have a social and moral responsibility to the community in which we live. We have a responsibility to impact the health of the community and empower its members. 3. Are there other values?

4 VISION The convergence of these forces and opportunities leads to the ultimate vision of Building a Healthy Community As a community focused entity we will:  Emphasize prevention, outreach and aftercare  Create a stronger program of services for children and adults by blending and linking the suite of services that both agencies provide  Provide easy access to services from birth to death (“provide the right service to the right person at the right time”)  Engage the community to: Provide input to current services Participate in designing new services Become more informed consumers of the services I DENTIFY V ISION

5 Achieving a long-term vision requires several factors to be in place.  Combined program of services that meet current and emerging community needs, from birth to death  Focus on getting ahead of the curve; becoming more entrepreneurial & being more creative in solving problems  Ongoing partnership with the community stakeholders, power brokers, opinion makers & philanthropic community  License to take risks in order to find a better solution; learn from failures  Cost-effective infrastructure (Shared Services) VISION without ACTION is a daydream. ACTION without VISION is a nightmare.
