4 Course Syllabus ATTENDANCE (10% OF YOUR GRADE) The attendance policy for this course is as follows: Students that attend class either on-time or late are considered present. There are a total of 45 class periods throughout the semester. Your attendance grade is calculated by determining the percentage of classes that you attended. If you attended 88% of the classes (i.e., 40 of the 45 classes), you will receive 8.8 points of the possible 10. If you attended 51% of the classes (i.e., 23 of the 45 classes), you will receive 5.1 points for attendance. The university attendance policy in which your grade decreases a letter for each absence after your third is NOT used in this course.

5 Course Syllabus ASSIGNMENTS (15% OF YOUR GRADE) There are three assignments required in this course. Each assignment is graded out of 15 points. Your assignments grade for the course will be the average grade that you received on the three assignments. Late assignments are not accepted for any reason.

6 Course Syllabus QUIZZES (15% OF YOUR GRADE) There are four quizzes that will be administered throughout this course. The quizzes will assess your knowledge of the four units discussed in this course. Each quiz is graded out of 15 points. Your quiz grade for the course will be the average grade that you received across the four quizzes. Quizzes can be made up during office hours; however, they must be scheduled and agreed upon through email.
