2 2UNCLASSFIED/FOUO The Institute for Military Support to Governance (IMSG) establishes a corporate body to research, analyze, and shape the policies, authorities, and doctrine required to leverage and employ civil sector expertise in contingencies. Institute for Military Support to Governance Procures necessary civil expertise to support Joint Commanders across the range of military operations; Researches, analyzes, and shapes policies, authorities, doctrine and training for Support to Civil Administration (SCA), Transitional Military Authority, and Theater Security Cooperation. Provides strategic military planners collaboration with civil sector experts. Operationalizes CONUS-base by coordinating with governmental, private business, and academia on military employment of civil expertise. Supports concept development and experimentation. Title X Army responsibility; revitalizes existing functional specialty force structure in USAR. Establishes credentialing standards for civil sector experts required to support future operations. Supports operational practitioners with situational research and analysis. Outreach to IA, NGOs, IGOs, Academia, and Business. Contributes to Military Governance policy, doctrine and training. Seeks to revitalize the existing force structure with new standards and expanded capabilities.
