Students are expected to take the exam at the same time as the class. There are ONLY two (2) exceptions: 1) The class is not scheduled during DRC testing hours 2) The extended time would overlap with another class/lecture If the student must take the exam at a different time, they are required to discuss which alternate schedule is acceptable with the professor. The student will lose their right to the accommodations if they do not obtain the professor’s approval. Scheduling Exams @ DRC Regular Quarter:Monday-Friday8:00am – 4:30pm Finals Week:Monday-Thursday7:00am-6:30pm Friday7:00am-4:30pm (latest start is 11:30am)

Test Request Deadlines The STUDENT must submit the Test Request to both DRC and professor no later than 3 working days before the exam. Example: Test date is Thursday, 2/27 = Request is due by Monday, 2/24 Example: Test date is Tuesday, 4/15 = Request is due by Thursday, 4/11 Finals requests are due no later than the 8 th week of the quarter. DRC will only accept 3 late requests each quarter. After the 3 rd late request, DRC will not accept any new requests (even if they’re on time!) for the remainder of the quarter. Students are welcome to submit ALL their requests at the beginning of the quarter. If any of the test dates change, contact our office to let us know. Do NOT submit a new request. Test Requests MUST be submitted online: http://www.csupomona.edu/~drc/forms-and-documents.shtml http://www.csupomona.edu/~drc/forms-and-documents.shtml

Student FAQs [1/4] Your first step is to discuss your request to use your accommodations with your professor. If the professor is unable to provide your accommodations, then you must take the exam during DRC testing hours. With your professor, decide which alternate test date/time is acceptable.

Student FAQs [2/4] An accommodation can be denied if it would significantly alter what the exam is designed to measure. However, this determination must be made collaboratively between the professor and DRC. If your professor has concerns about your test accommodations, contact DRC as soon as possible so that we can discuss whether or not it is appropriate for you to use your accommodations based on the exam objectives.

Student FAQs [3/4] Your professor. If she is able to provide the accommodations as prescribed by DRC, then she has the right to do so. It is important though, PRIOR to the exam date, that you discuss with her the details of how your exam will be administered (e.g., if approved for a distraction-free room, ask where you will take the exam).

Student FAQs [4/4] As soon as you know that there will be unannounced quizzes throughout the quarter, submit a Test Request to DRC and the professor (leave the test date blank). Upon receipt, DRC will contact the professor directly to determine the best approach given the quiz specifics (e.g., length of quiz, time administered during class, etc.).
