Miguel de Cervantes (1547-1616) Spanish novelist, dramatist, and poet Soldier-lost the use of his left hand; was imprisoned in Northern Africa Government worker-traveled throughout Andalucía Unsuccessful as a… soldier, public servant, author (at first) The full name of the book is El ingenioso hidalgo Don Quijote de la Mancha. -part 1- written in 1605 (very popular) -part 2- written in 1615 -contains everyday characters that show the goodness in people -Don Quixote brings everyone into his charade
