6 Click to add heading ACRP S YNTHESIS 8 – C OMMON U SE F ACILITIES AT A IRPORTS Synthesis 8 6 explores common use technology that enables an airport operator to take space that has previously been exclusive to a single airline and make it available for use by multiple airlines and their passengers.

7 DEFINITION OF COMMON USE

8 Click to add heading D EFINITION OF C OMMON U SE Common Use Definitions 8 Common Use is a facility allocation and management approach intended to maximize airport facility access and allocation through non-dedicated resources. It is an alternative method to the traditional approach which uses proprietary / exclusive use models. Common Use Systems are Airport Operator provided hardware and software systems that provide an interface through which airline proprietary systems can operate without restricting facility access, use and allocation to other airlines.
