3 Context Public consultation Regeneration of urban public space: – University campus – Urban park Key questions: – What do you like/dislike? Why? – How would you improve the space?

4 Photographic diary Individuals taking photos around a public space + taking notes: When? Where? Why? Suggestion for improvement? Disposable vs. digital camera need flexibility Unique engagement with the surrounding environment Reflection & imagination Increased focus Captures what is important to participants Balanced comments Images as evidence Accompanying text matters! Positive participant feedback (x time/effort)
