2. Students write their stories in Microsoft Word, using the outline view.

3. Each page of the story should be next to a separate bullet of the outline.

4. Once the story is finished, the student chooses File, Send to, Microsoft Powerpoint.

5. At this command, the information from Word is sent to Powerpoint, placing each bulleted item on a separate slide in the presentation.

6. Some shifting of the text box may be necessary to make the text fit the page and the student’s preferences.

7. Next, to add illustrations, students may use a variety of methods.

8. Illustrations may be drawn on paper, scanned into the computer, and pasted into the presentation.

9. Illustrations may be drawn using a paint program within the computer.

10. Illustrations may be built using clip art or animated objects from online sources.

11. Once the text and illustrations are placed on each page, all that’s left is customizing the backgrounds and transitioning the slides in the presentation.

12. Remember to save your work. The presentations may be burned to CD so that students can take their presentations home.

13. I also printed copies of the Powerpoint slides and bound them for a hard-copy version to take home.
