3. Cequint is the service that goes through T- Mobile to get this technology rolling. Cequint is a subsidiary of Transaction Network Services, which manages an operator-validated database of phone numbers.

4. Upon an incoming call, the Name ID service accesses the data through TNS and displays the name, location, and number. If the number already exists in your contact information, then it will just show up normally.

5. Cequint believed this to be a good idea because on landlines 80% used this service. Screening phone calls was something everyone used to do and it was way easier having a landline with true caller id. With cell phones replacing land lines, most people dont know half the time who is calling.
