O Fortuna Carl Orff Orff is most well known for his contributions to music education. The Orff method of music education uses very basic, everyday activities in the creation of music by young people. This includes singing in groups and performing vocal music, rhymes and playing instruments such as the xylophone, glockenspiel, and other percussive instruments The music created in the Orff method is largely improvisational Orff was first a percussionist, which is heard in the composition with it’s irregular rhythms
