3. South Holston By 1797 Moses Lindsey and Letitia Breckenridge have moved their family to Washington County Virginia.

4. What was their homestead was just down the Virginia Creeper Trail from the Iron Horse Campground and Barn Dance at Roetown.

VA Walker's Creek (current day Bland/Giles Co.) and Sally Run (current day Wythe Co.) 1786 Moses is court appointed overseer of the road ("in the room of Stophel Brown”) Montgomery Co. That would be in the Sally Run neighborhood. 1797, Aug 15 John Keyes sells 103 acres to Moses Lindsey at confluence of Laurel and South Holston. 1806 Moses Lindsey is on Washington Co. VA personal tax list. 1810 Washington Co. census, Moses is absent, and his wife “Letis” is head of household. [he is assumed to have died between 1806 and the census date]

11. More about Letitia Breckenridge 1755-1760 probably baptised in the South Meeting House, Tinkling Spring Congregration of Presbyterians in Augusta Co. VA. 1769 her brother moved to Wolf Hills (Abingdon) cabin. 1769 her father ordained elder of Unity Presbyterian congregation in Reed Creek area of Montgomery/Wythe. 1785 - married Moses Lindsey Sr. in Montgomery Co.VA 1785 -lived on Sally Run in what is now Wythe County. 1785-1795 bore at least 5 children and perhaps lived for a time on Walkers Creek near the Green Hill (Bland Co). 1797 - moved to Washington Co. at confluence of Laurel Creek and South Holston, near Damascus VA. 1810 - on Washington Co. VA census a female head of household (widow) with 6 teenagers 1820 - on Washington Co. VA census in household of Isaac Lindsey (her son)

13. Moses Lindsey, Jr. Born about 1788 VA (Sally Run or Walkers Creek) Served in War of 1812 (1813,1814) Resided S. Holston, to 1824, when 50 a. bought from Isaac Lindsey was sold. Resided Lodi, (Osceola Community) 1830, 1840, 1850, 1860 census. Died after 1860. 14. The Rush Creek Chuch was built in 1822 of hand hewn chestnut logs. Moses Jr. and Catharine were married here in 1813 under an arbor by Elder John Jones Jr., and most likely helped to build the church.

26. More on Elizabeth Lindsey Born about 1793 in Sally Run or Walkers Creek VA Grew up in Washington Co. on banks of South Holston where the Laurel comes in. We are not sure when she was married to Thomas H. Johnson, estimate it would be about 1810 or 1811. She bore about 5-8 children, including Barbara Johnson. Elizabeth is not listed on the 1860 Johnson Co census, but is on the 1850 and 1840.. She is named and alive on a Johnson County Deed dated Aug. 26 1856. So presumably her death is between that date and the 1860 census.
