5 Background Design: Torsten Kranz Design: Torsten Kranz @ TEE  l 5 priority levels are provided: Emergency: highest priority 4 priority levels (1 - 4) l Remote-Controlled Power-ON the VM is always in stand-by mode, to be switched on by external equipment (e.g. central system in emergency case) l Emergency Power (24V DC) Inlet l Cascading 9 VM-2000 9 VM-2000 can be combined to obtain up to 45 zones and more output power

9 Background Design: Torsten Kranz Design: Torsten Kranz @ TEE  2 BGM Inputs l 2 RCA/Cinch connectors (Stereo  Mono) l 2 attenuator for each channel (pre-adjustment) l Volume, bass & treble control BASS TREBLE BGM l Mute-level can be set: -∞∞, -28, 0 dB: to allow just mixing, keeping BGM present during paging or to switch off l BGM has always lowest priority (priority level 4) l Assignment to Zones The BGM signal can be routed to the zones selected by the front panel’s zone switches

11 Background Design: Torsten Kranz Design: Torsten Kranz @ TEE   Control Settings l Selectable priority: ­When using control inputs: priority level 1 or 2 can be selected ­When not using control inputs: priority level 3 is provided ­Channels of the same priority level, can be set either to Last-in-first-out (LIFO) or first-in-first-out (FIFO) l Assignment to Zones -in priority level 1 or 2, the inputs can be assigned to certain zones - in priority level 3, the inputs will be routed to the zones selected by the front panel’s zone switches l Mixing ­In priority level 2, mixing can be selected ­In priority level 3, mixing is provided l Pre-Announcement Chime ­Priority level 1 and 2 provide automatic pre-chime ­On input 3, the pre-chime can be switched off PCB

Priority only for RM-200M and messages 1 - 5 l Mixing l in priority level 2: “priority 2 mixing” is set l in priority level 3

To avoid switching off easily
