8. AVID—Advancement via Individual Determination New program in the Lowndes County and City school district. It is the first one of its kind in Mississippi. 4 year program at high school level with college as the main goal. Students begin AVID in the 9 th Grade AVID elective course Tutorials Cornell Note Taking Notebook College Tours and Admissions This class helps with all aspects of students’ readiness and getting accepted to 4-year universities.
