TI Calculator Creating a Scatterplot … Step #1 – Enter the Data
STAT 1 (Edit) To clear the lists … press up arrow, CLEAR, and ENTER Enter your data into the Lists Important: Must have same number of items in each list!

TI Calculator Step #2 - Display the Graph 2nd Y= Turn Plot 1 ON
Possible Source of Errors: Mismatched Data L1 and L2 not showing Other StatPlots are ON Step #2 - Display the Graph 2nd Y= Turn Plot 1 ON 1 Enter Make sure it shows L1 and L2 Make sure all other plots are OFF (2nd, Y=) GRAPH ZOOM, 9 automatically adjusts the window to fit the data entered into the Lists

Step #3 - Getting the Line of Best Fit STAT (right arrow – over to CALC) 4 (LinReg) 2nd, 1 (will show L1) , 2nd, 2 (will show L2) VARS (right arrow – over to Y-VARS) 1 (Function) 1 (Y1) ENTER Possible Source of Errors: Could be missing commas. Whole command should be the only thing on the line (on the calculator). LinReg(ax+b) L1, L2, Y1

T1 Calculator This gives you the equation of the line of best fit and stores it in Y1 y = ax + b a = b = 62.75 r2 = r = If you don’t get the r values: 2nd Scroll Down to Diagnostic On ENTER y = x Press GRAPH to see the scatterplot with the line of best fit!
