Sources of Fiqh Textual evidence must be examined from 2 perspectives: Authenticity of text (thubut) Focus on isnad (chain of narration) Meaning of text (dalalah) Focus on matn (text itself)
Fiqh Terms Fard (obligatory) Wajib (mandatory) Sunnah Muakkadah (strongly emphasized) Ghayr muakkadah (less emphasized) Mustahabb (recommended) Mubah / Ja’iz (permissible) Makruh Tahrim (prohibitively disliked) Tanzih (somewhat disliked) Haram (impermissible)
