Refer to the website for project directions and research links. 6)Read slide 4 for directions on how to log in to your Student Home drive in the Mac Lab. *Save your digital work in at least 2 places: email it to yourself save on a thumb drive save to your student home drive set up a free online storage account at www.box.net

2 Sketchbook Expectations Title each sketchbook entry with sketch/write #__ and date the entry Fill at least half the page with your response whether it is a sketch, research, notes, thumbnails for a project, etc. All sketchbook entries must be numbered, dated, and kept in numerical order. Use color! You may use the front and back of each page.

3 Sketchbook #2 Read the Acceptable Use Policy and the Student Acceptable Use Contract on the website and answer the following questions in your sketchbook (14 points total): 1.What are school computers to be strictly used for? 2.Can you use the computers to play online games once you have finished your assignment? True or False 1.Your files on the TPHS student home drive are private. 2.Anything you send on school computers, including email is subject to be monitored and viewed without prior warning. 3. You may not hold the district or staff responsible for any damage to your files while using school computers and school internet access. 4. My use of the computers/networks/internet at school is a privilege, not a right. If I use the electronic media provided at school for anything considered non-class related, my use of the technology privilege will be immediately revoked and my account access cancelled. 5.List and briefly explain the 4 rules of network etiquette. (4 points) 6.Under Prohibited Use the transmission of what kinds of information violates state and federal law? 7.What are 3 possible consequences for violating the acceptable use policy? (3 points)

4 Log in Procedure: Logging in to your personal H drive: 1)Click on the blue drive at the right side of the doc with 3 people on it. It says StuHome 2)A dialog box appears. 3)Enter your username (last name first initial last 4 digits of SI) and password (you should have changed your password to 7 characters or less on a school PC) Click OK. 4)A dialogue box appears again. Select Stuhome Click OK. 5)You are now logged in to your personal H drive only. This is where you save your work.

5 End of class Procedure Log out Shut down (periods 5 & 6 only) Clean up your work area: throw all trash, return supplies and books to materials table, push in your chair Wait at your desk until the bell rings
