5 www.thegivingspirit.org VolunteersVolunteers People Helped All volunteer: We are a true grass-roots organization with no administrative overhead. Creating a connection: Interacting directly with the recipients is central to the TGS mission – and often cited as the most meaningful aspect by volunteers. Raising awareness: It's such a change from how it was before. No more having the urge to ignore or look away. It's just seeing what has always been there, a human being, a soul. Maria, a TGS Volunteer Meeting people where they are: We are unique in our approach of bringing aid directly to those in need, often reaching those not served by other means. We go to them. Providing aid: Over 10 years, weve refined the contents of our kits to provide what is most needed to survive. Lifting spirits: We provide a level of interaction and hope that many of LAs homeless do not receive on a day-to-day basis. Changing Lives www.thegivingspirit.org
