AFFIRMATIVE: (telling someone to do something) We use the second person singular form of a verb (the “you” form) Examples: Go! Walk! Listen! How do we do this in ENGLISH?

Basically, instead of saying it as a statement: You go to the store. Drop the “you” and just say the verb! You go to the store. Go to the store. You feed the dog Feed the dog. How do we do this in ENGLISH?

In statements, the DOP goes BEFORE the conjugated verb:

Affirmative Attach the DOP to the end of the command Examples:

Accent Marks áéíóú Do I need accent marks?
How do I know where to put them? If the command…. has a DOP attached to the end 3+ syllables long …then you add an accent to the second to last syllable of the verb. Example: Lavalos (Wash them) DOP attached? Yes 3+ syllables? Yes Lávalos Accent Marks áéíóú second to last syllable last syllable
