AFFIRMATIVE: (telling someone to do something) We use the second person singular form of a verb (the “you” form) Examples: Go! Walk! Listen! How do we do this in ENGLISH?

Basically, instead of saying it as a statement: You go to the store. Drop the “you” and just say the verb! You go to the store.  Go to the store. You feed the dog  Feed the dog. How do we do this in ENGLISH?

13 In statements, the DOP goes BEFORE the conjugated verb:

15 Accent Marks áéíóú Do I need accent marks?
How do I know where to put them? If the command…. has a DOP attached to the end 3+ syllables long …then you add an accent to the second to last syllable of the verb. Example: Lavalos (Wash them) DOP attached? Yes 3+ syllables? Yes Lávalos Accent Marks áéíóú second to last syllable last syllable

Don’t heat up the rice!  Don’t heat it up! ¡No añadas la sal!  ¡No la añadas! Don’t add the salt!  Don’t add it! Negative Commands with DOPs
