2 Quantifiers. Выражение количества.
A lot of / lots of – с исчисляемыми существительными во множ. числе и с неисчисляемыми существительными. Much (?, - ) – с неисчисляемыми существительными, Many (?, - ) – с исчисляемым существительными. A few (few) – с исчисляемыми существительными A little (little) – с неисчисляемыми существительными.

3 A lot of (+), much (?, -), many (?, -).
There are a lot of / much biscuits in the box. (a lot of) Is there much/many juice left? (much) How much/many onions do we have? (many) Are there any carrots? – Not much/Not many. ( Not many) Is there any pepper left? – Not much/Not many. (Not much).

4 A few, a little. I’d like to drink a few/a little tea for lunch.
We’ve got a little/a few oranges on the plate. (a few) Kate has a little/a few porridge every morning. Sam eats a few/a little sweets at weekends.

5 Singular or Plural? (SB, GR7).
1. The scissors is/are on the kitchen table. 2. All my luggage is/are in the car. 3. Maths is/are the subject I am good at. 4. The best way to travel long distances is/are by plane. 5. The police is /are investigating the case. 6. The news was/were fantastic! 7. Money is/are not the most important thing in life. 8. His hair is/are too long. 9. The scales in the bathroom is/are not accurate. SB, p.33, ex.5b.

go after – преследовать go down with – свалиться с, заболеть go off – выйти из строя, сломаться go through - получить опыт go up – повышать, увеличивать go with – подходить (об одежде) go without – выживать, справляться.

7 Word Formation. P.36, ex.2. DIS + V, Adj., N = opposite meaning disappear dishonesty

8 Word Formation. P.36, ex.2. MIS + V, N = to do wrongly or badly
misunderstand misbehave
