Data collection process and calculation of indicators
4 questionnaires Data collected via a web application Monthly data : Traffic: Passenger / Freight / Trains Key Performance Indicators provisional data - main parameters Annual data Network – Transport stock – Staff – Traffic – Punctuality – Financial Results - Energy Consumption – Accidents – High Speed >>> 34 tables –> 410 variables 5-yearly data: Network and Rolling stock Tracks and installations Purpose-built wagons Age of powered, passenger and freight transport stock
12
Data collection process and calculation of indicators
Data verification Automated Control for users: Absolute difference with the previous year above 10% = red signal Automated report on large anomalies for administrator Computation of indicators and temporal evolution Comparison of data coming from other sources such as Eurostat, OECD - ITF (non systematic approach)
13
Data collection process and calculation of indicators
Improving data consistency for inter-comparison RailLexic 5.0 is available online RailLexic is UIC’s terminology database and the leading reference in the field of multilingual railway terminology. The database contains ~ terms in 23 languages e.g Czech, Danish, Dutch, Finnish, Hungarian, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Serbian, Slovak, Swedish, Turkish Translations, variants of the term, subject fields and grammatical information. Definitions for about terms
