3 What is a Resume? A professional document that summarizes your skills, experiences and educational background. Employers use resumes to look for qualified employees.

4 Why is Resume Important?
Resume is like an “ advertisement ” that sells you to an employer. It is almost always the first step to getting an interview.

5 An Effective Resume is Functional: Does the resume effectively inform the audience about you to achieve your professional goal? Formatted: Does the follow the conventions of a resume? Does it include necessary components of a resume? Concise: Does the resume take approximately a minute or less to read? Edited: Is the resume free of mechanical errors? Authentic: Is the resume genuine?
