3 Our Mission Statement BridgePrep Academy believes every child learns best in a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment where high academic expectations, self esteem, good character and an appreciation for the arts are promoted. BridgePrep Academy’s mission is to provide a challenging academic curriculum that will encompass an extended Spanish language program, technology and experiences that will enable students to develop in all areas. BridgePrep Academy’s goal is to educate well rounded individuals and enable students to reach their maximum potential. Introductions

9 Grade Level  Day of the Week  Times  Kindergarten and  1st grade  Tuesday through Friday  8:00am to 2:45pm  2nd to 8thgrade   Tuesday through Friday  8:00am to 3:30pm  Kindergarten to  8th grade  Student Early Release Days  One-hour early release every Monday with the following exceptions: Oct. 14, 2019, Oct. 21, 2019, Oct. 28, 2019, Nov. 4, 2019, Nov. 18, 2019, Dec. 2, 2019, Dec, 9, 2019, Dec. 16, 2019  Last day of school: 2.5 hours early  8:00am to 2:30pm

11 ATTENDANCE AND PUNCTUALITY IS MANDATORY
It is an educational fact that attendance and grades are connected.  We expect our students to demonstrate excellent attendance. Please make every effort to have your child attend school on time consistently.

12 Absenteeism Policy Students are to be counted in attendance only if they are actually present for at least two hours of the day or engaged in a school-approved educational activity which constitutes a part of the instructional program for the student. 

13 TARDY POLICY Any student arriving after 8:05am will be issued a late pass and marked tardy. After ten (10) unexcused tardies, the student will be issued a referral form that will be placed in the student’s permanent record. 

14 REQUIRED PLANNERS PURCHASE
BPA  PLANNERS ARE REQUIRED FOR GRADES K-8 $5.00 PURCHASE PRICE ALL TEACHERS WILL UTILIZE PLANNERS WITH THE STUDENTS

15 Instructional Support
In addition, students will utilize the implementation of best practices and visuals to help support them and assist them with becoming independent learners of the second language. Exceptional Student Education will be available based on the demand of the enrolled population. English Language Learners (ELL) will receive an entry assessment and instructional support as required by Federal & District policy.

16 HOME LEARNING Parents’ responsibility for completing home learning assignments: Provide your child with a quiet place which is conducive to studying and to learning. Show an interest in your child’s home learning assignments by providing assistance and reviewing completed work. Do not complete the home learning assignments for your child. If your child is having difficulty, try to help them with their assignment and notify the teacher. Read with or to your children daily.

HOME LEARNING Grade Level  Frequency of Assignments  Total Daily Average  (All Subjects)  K – 1st grade  Daily (4 days per week)  45 minutes  2nd – 3rd grade  60 minutes  4th – 8th grade  75 minutes  All Grades  Daily (5  days per week)  Reading for 30 minutes  in addition to above time. 

18 LUNCH PROGRAM LUNCH  It is required that all students eat a healthy and nutritious lunch.  A student may bring their lunch to school or purchase lunch from our vendor. School lunches price to be determined,  please refer to first day school packet for additional information. If your child qualifies for free or reduced lunch arrangements will be made accordingly. Students who bring lunch bags/boxes must bring them upon arriving to school. NO NUT ITEMS PERMITTED FOR ANY STUDENT.  NO GLASS BOTTLES OR CONTAINERS.
