MISSION:
The Diversity Leadership Group’s mission is to provide leadership guidance and support to the Ocean Shore community to cultivate an environment of inclusion where each individual is valued and respected.
DLG sponsors many school and family events throughout the school year, some include:

9. PEF Is: Music. Arts. Science.
The Pacifica Education Foundation (PEF) Is Taking Education To New Heights in Pacifica. We raise community sourced funds to fuel programs that bridge the Pacifica School District budget gaps. We Fund:
Science leads to support integration of new standards for Kinder through 8th grade students
Band equipment, summer program, field trips and music for middle school students
Music teacher and instruments for 3rd through 5th grade students
Slam poetry writing and performance program for 5th grade students
STEAM program and classroom support for 3rd through 8th grade students
PEF Is: Critically Necessary
California Ranks 41st in the Nation for per pupil funding. Bay Area communities rely on EDU Foundations to provide their public schools with well rounded educational programs. Pacifica deserves the same advantages.
CA is the sixth largest economy in the world, AND the largest Gross Domestic Product of any state, but....
CA funds schools ~$1,961 per student LESS than the national average, and...
CA is 45th in the % of taxable income spent on education, and pupil:teacher ratios; and 48th in pupil:staff ratios!
PSD ranks 2nd to last, of the 23 San Mateo County school budgets. $15K per student variance; top - down!
