1 ENTSO-E Common Grid Model Exchange Standard (CGMES)
Implementation of the dynamics profile Kick off web conference with vendors 12 December 2013, Participants: Christoph, Ferdinando, Giatgen, Olaf, Stefan, Chavdar, Wim, Richard, Sam, Emilie, Chuck, Adriano Chavdar Ivanov Research and Development Senior Advisor

2 Agenda Information on CGMES Members of the team The overall process
What we have available What we need Next steps Discussion

3 Information on CGMES The ENTSO-E Common Grid Model Exchange Standard (CGMES) – based on draft IEC CIM 16 Now in final approval stage – decision expected on 18 Dec ENTSO-E discussed conformity process IOP 2014 – planned (14 July 2014)

4 Members of the team – vendors (persons for the email list)

Chavdar Ivanov Wim Ivens

7 The overall process Models were grouped Monthly schedule defined
All vendors – implement, run the tests and post the results Secretariat merge the results All assess the charts if the results are OK The results are documented in an Implementation guide The “typical values” for all attributes are updated in the UML If the results of the tests are not OK due to problems in the dynamics profile (in case of profile issues) Description of a standard model can be updated, but no UML structural changes should be applied

8 What we have available ENTSO-E WG SPD report : operations-reports/continental-europe/ RG_SOC_CE/131127_Controller_Test_Report.pdf The documentation of the Dynamics profile of the CGMES Test model used by WG SDP and available to vendors Test procedures from the IOP

9 What we need The precise test procedures (1-2 tests + the description of what simulations are run; solution settings, simulation step, etc should be defined) Test model in CGMES v (The base case model used by WG SPD should be exported and documented) xls templates to collect the results from the simulations A template of the Implementation guide so that we can document step by step

10 Next steps Pilot to test the process: VCompIEEEType1, ExcSEXS, ExcIEEEAC1A, ExcIEEEDC1A, ExcIEEEST1A, PssIEEE2B, GovSteam0, SynchronousMachineTimeConstantReactance Test procedures available by 15 Jan Test model exported in CGMES by 15 Jan First comparison of results for the pilot models – last week of Jan
