6 Academic Requirements
Every semester students must: Pass ALL classes Earn at least at “C” grade in the Academy class Maintain a minimum 2.0 GPA No more than 10 unexcused absences No “N”s or “U”s in Citizenship

7 Probation Student will be placed on probation if any deficits exist in any of the previously stated areas Notices are sent out in at the beginning of each semester One semester to improve If deficits continue, may be removed from program & returned to zoned school

8 Magnet Certificate Requirements
In order to receive a Magnet Certificate & Medallion, ALL students must complete… 4 yrs Math 4 yrs Science 4 yrs Magnet Elective 10 volunteer hours per year

10 Steps to Earning Your Private Pilot Certificate
There are four parts to earning your Private Pilot Certificate: FAA Medical Exam 11th grade FAA Written Knowledge Test 11th grade Oral Knowledge Test 12th grade Practical Test in the Airplane 12th grade

11 How Long Does it Take? Students who fly appx. 3x/week can earn their license in as little as 3-5 months Students who fly only on weekends or take long breaks from training can take years At a minimum, the FAA requires you to have at least 40 hours of flight time. The average number of hours at which students earn their licenses is between 50 and 70.

12 How Much Does it Cost? Cost of flight training depends upon how quickly you progress The more often you fly, the less you will spend  A typical student can expect to pay between $8,500 and $11,000 for the flight lessons, books and training supplies RHS will contribute $2,000 to vetted flight school AFTER approved for 1st cross-country solo flight Must be on-track for graduation and NOT CREDIT DEFICIENT

14 Alternative Tracks for Pilot Students
AMT Track Can begin this track 10th grade year Inform Counselor of elective request change UAS Course Can earn a FAA UAS Pilot Certificate Design, build, program and fly drones

15 Flight Schools The following flight schools with us this evening are vetted through CCSD and eligible for the $2,000 grant: West Air Hillsboro Flight Training 702 Helicopters
