4 How you can support at home - Revision
The best way to revise for GCSE Mathematics exams is to practice Maths, especially past paper exam questions. While it is tempting to practice Maths that your know, the key is to work on the topics you don’t know. SMART Targets Individual Learning Plan Long revisions sessions are not beneficial (in my opinion), short sessions, answering questions around identified topics will be. Little and often revision session, structure and timetabled Single topic revision sessions (maximum 45 minutes, again, in my opinion) Support with Core Topics – FDP, %, Measures, Algebra basics

5 How you can support at home – Practice Papers
Exam Preparation – Timed Practice Each Mark is an estimated 67.5 seconds 80 Marks in 90 minutes Read the question slowly, and imagine you are reading it to someone else. Question Strategies Answer the questions you can answer visually first. (quick marks). Then answer the questions you know, but requires working out. Then the questions where you think you have an idea with. Do some calculations. Don’t waste time on questions you can’t do, leave them to the end. Work through 1 mark, then 2 mark questions etc.

6 Revision Support Extra sessions are available in Maths and English department during the following lunchtimes: Tuesdays 12:30-13:30, TG20 Past Papers Revision Wednesdays 12:30-13:30, TG20 Individual Learning Plan Topics Thursday 12:30-13:30, TG25a MathsWatch Homework Support MathsWatch Each student has access to Homework set weekly Useful Revision Tool using Videos and Questions
