Registering for the ap exam

AP Exam Schedule

Deadlines & Payment schedule

How to register & pay for ap exams
Students/parents will use Total Registration to register and pay for all AP exams. Registration will not be complete until payment is made (see next slide from more information on payment). Please note that due to processing costs and timelines, a $5.00 per exam cancellation fee will be applied to any exam canceled by March 6th. After March 6th, we will be unable to cancel your exam order and the cost of the exam will not be refundable even if the exam is not taken.

A special note If you are registering more than one student for AP exams this year, you will need to create a separate account in Total Registration for each student, and complete a separate registration process for each student, as well.

Ordering your exam Please use the following link to order and pay for your exams: Please make sure you enter the correct demographic information into the system, as this is the information provided to College Board about the student who is testing. Please also make sure that you select the correct course and instructor for each exam that you order. You may refer to your child’s schedule in HAC for this information.

Paying for exams Payment for each exam is due at time of enrollment. If payment is not made in full, the campus will not be able to order your exam(s).

Paying for exams: Credit Card Pmt.
If you are paying for exams with a credit card, you will make payment through the Total Registration site at the time of registration (you will not be able to finalize your registration without paying).

Paying for exams: check/money order
If you are paying for exams with a check or a money order, please select this option on the Total Registration site, and follow the instructions provided for mailing the payment directly to Total Registration. Please note that your registration will not be complete until payment is received and processed. If the payment is received after the deadline provided, the cost of the test will increase, and all additional fees will also need to be paid before the exam can be ordered.

Paying for exams We will not be able to accept any form of payment at BNHS for AP exams. All payments must be made through Total Registration.

A special note Once you have ordered AND paid for your child’s AP exam(s), please ask him or her to check with their teacher(s) to confirm they are showing up on their testing rosters as being registered. Once exams are ordered, we will not be able to correct an errors in ordering (i.e. student is registered for the wrong exam). You may also login to the Total Registration system at any time to verify your registration and that payment has been applied.

Information verification
At the end of March, we will begin sending reminders for parents and students to double-check the demographic information provided to Total Registration. This is an important step to make sure the correct information is pre-coded onto an answer document as required by College Board. If you discover any of the information is incorrect, please Ms. Norris at with the error and the correct information, and I will be happy to correct it for you. 

Back-to-Back Testing Please note that while College Board tries to create a testing schedule that prevents students from taking two exams back-to-back in one day, this does happen. However, this is not an approved College Board late testing qualification, and we cannot order late exams for students simply because they have to tests back-to-back on the same day. We do work to ensure these students get as much of a break as possible between exams. The ONLY exceptions to this stipulation are students taking Spanish and Physics 1 and/or Music Theory and Computer Science A. In this case, these students will take - Spanish during the regular testing session and Physics 1 as a late exam Music Theory during the regular testing session and Computer Science A as a late exam

Testing Conflicts Occasionally, some students will register for two tests at the same time. We will be aware of these issues and will counsel both student and parent on which exam the student should take during the regular testing session and which would be better to take late. If there is some other sort of testing conflict that will prevent your child from taking their exam during the regularly scheduled time, please let Ms. Norris know ASAP. Please note that College Board has to approve all cases for late testing, and they may deny the request. Additionally, this option often includes an additional fee. It’s important not to use the idea of late testing as a fallback unless it’s absolutely necessary.

Scholarships Unfortunately, scholarships will not be available this year. The district will still contribute to the cost of all exams purchased through March 6, 2019 (please see the deadline and payment schedule for more information), but additional funding will not be offered. If you feel that you have an extreme financial need, please contact Ms. Norris to see if there is a way we can help. 

Questions? Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions you have about this process. Maggie Norris, Assistant Principal and AP Testing Coordinator (817)
