5. Challenges faced by Academic researchers in using the IP system
Most academic research results are at the stage of proof of concept or laboratory prototype and require substantial further research and development before they can be turned into a commercially viable application
Protection of intellectual property (IP) generated in universities and finding suitable partner for transfer of technology through the licensing of patents, is equally important and these days research organizations are placing increasing emphasis on commercializing IP and generating revenues from it
Start-ups by university employees, setting up of science parks and business incubators is desirable and may result in additional job creation however significant amount of investment is needed in such activities

6. NIPER as foundation hubs for Innovation and technology transfer
NIPER is breeding ground for many industrially relevant and commercially scalable important innovations
NIPER can be developed as:
