Dates to Know
* Report Cards are coming home today! Please sign & return the brown envelope. The Report Card is yours to keep!
* We are starting to grade homework assignments together in class now! Hopefully this will help the kids understand exactly what is expected on end-of-year assessments. I’ll attach this rubric to the Reading Journal for you to see each night too. A passing score is a level 2 or a level 3 only! Thanks for encouraging your child to do homework as independently as possible!

Theme: Mammals (also a Science standard)
Math: New unit on Place Value
Phonics: Long Vowel Sounds & “Bully E” at the end of a word (vowel/consonant/e words)
Reading Focus: Identify basic similarities in and differences between two texts on the same topic
Writing Focus: Opinion pieces that state an opinion & provide supporting reasons
