2 What We Do Hillphoenix, a leading industry innovator has dedicated the necessary resources to develop a new Walk-Ins Division. The result, Hillphoenix WALK-INS is now one of the largest and the most innovative manufacturers of walk-in products in the United States providing a wide variety of custom-designed walk-in coolers and freezers to customers throughout North America.

3 WALK-INS The walk-ins division specializes in “cold boxes” that are used for refrigerating perishable products in bulk. This is an example of a dairy cooler, you can see the door used to enter and stock on the side.

4 Our Products This is a supermarket reach-in beverage cooler.
This is inside the cooler where the beverages are stored and loaded into the reach-in display.

5 Panels are constructed individually, then assembled together to make a box.

6 Exterior Metal Skin Interior Metal Skin Female Rail The typical panel is constructed by creating a wood frame consisiting of 2 rails, and 2 end plates. It is then covered by a metal skin on the exterior and the interior. It is then filled foam. Cam Lock Male Rail Foam

Panels can be place in one of 4 classification based on complexity, time needed to build and tools needed that require additional training. CLASS 4 CLASS 3 CLASS 2 CLASS 1 Panels that require a lot of time ability and understanding of the drawing for quality assurance. Panels that require a directional change or contain electrical Panels that are “Non –Standard” Basic “Standard” panel Panels consist of end plates, rails for varying type and change direction in some fashion. Panels could also contain backing with electrical components. Panel configuration is considered “Non-Standard”, ex: Double Tongue. Panels may also contain backing of some sort or have two different length rails or plywood covering Consists of 2 end plates and a Tongue and Grooved rail and 2 skins (e.x. Basic 47” panel or cut wall) Panels consist of end plates, rails for varying type, length and lock locations and change direction in some fashion. Panels could also contain backing with multible electrical components.

14 Each employee will be required to build any panel of varying difficulty at any given time to meet our production goals Each and every employee will be expected to perform to the best of their ability and produce quality work in a timely fashion It will not be held against the employee for not being able to build certain panels if not able to do so efficiently and effectively If an employee is not confident in their ability to build said panel the employee SHOULD ASK FOR HELP!!

19 Production Drawings Our designers create production drawings giving you the information needed to produce panels and boxes. Manufacturing Support generates cut sheets by interpreting these drawing and devising the appropriate cut dimensions and material to be used. As a material handler, it is still helpful to understand the production drawings to have a solid understanding of What you are cutting/assembling. The 1st place to look when reading a production drawing is the title block…
