2 INTRODUCTION https://www.americandisabilityassociation.org/ American Disability Association supports children with disabilities, as well as their families, so they may live abundant lives. As a network of support and resources, ADA creates new opportunities that empower and enhance the quality of life for children living with Autism, Down Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, and other disabilities. Many individuals and families managing a disability are not aware of the wide array of services available to them, or they do not know how to apply for these benefits in a way that is likely to succeed. ADA fills those gaps where schools, insurance, and regional centers fail to offer the services your family requires.

4 Donation for children with disability https://www.americandisabilityassociation.org/corporate-partners/ When you have a child with a disability, like autism, Down syndrome and cerebral palsy, it’s tough to navigate the school system. Unfortunately, school districts often worsen this situation by not supplying the special education support that children with special needs are entitled. We are a not-for-profit organization committed to helping children with disabilities get the help they need.

5 In-Home Supportive Services In-home supportive services (IHSS) is a california government program that provides financial assistance for caretakers of children with developmental disabilities, including autism, cerebral palsy, and down syndrome. Ihss and Protective Supervision Protective supervision is part of the IHSS program in california. It is for children who need to be supervised twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week to minimize injury to themselves. When you are approved for protective supervision, you receive an hourly wage to stay home and care for your child. This wage is exempt from federal income taxes.

6 Child Therapy Resources https://www.americandisabilityassociation.org/support-center/child-therapy-resources/ Children with special needs often benefit from a variety of therapeutic interventions. Depending on the special need, a child may have physical, occupational, behavioral, psychological, and or speech therapy, in addition to tutoring and other types of intervention. There are also many forms of special needs therapy that help with pediatric conditions, such as music therapy, equine therapy, sensory tools and toys, and more. For children with special needs, sometimes several differing therapies have a role to play in helping them reach their potential.
