2 REGIONAL CENTERS Regional centers are nonprofit private corporations that contract with the Department of Developmental Services to provide or coordinate services and supports for individuals with developmental disabilities.

4 SERVICES OFFERED Regional centers provide diagnosis and assessment of eligibility. There is no charge for the diagnosis and eligibility assessment. 6 WHO IS ELIGIBLE FOR SERVICES? person must have a disability that begins before the person's 18th birthday, be expected to continue indefinitely and present a substantial disability. 7 ELIGIBILITY after age 3 To be diagnosed with intellectual disability, cerebral palsy, epilepsy, autism or any disabling conditions found to be closely related to intellectual disability or to require treatment similar to that required for individuals with an intellectual disability, but shall not include other handicapping conditions that are solely physical in nature.
