Ineffective committees and staff without responsibilities Effective Committees, Staff Responsibilities explicitly documented to all No centralized data Centralized, up to date spreadsheet Centralized data in Donor Management System (DMS) Four steps for effective, sustainable, and on-going alumni outreach and fundraising efforts: Identify who does what Collect clean data Put your data to work Communicate with your Alumni, supporters and donors Fully implementing each of these four steps will allow a camp (or other organization) to: Effectively stay engaged with its alumni and donors Improve communications with all constituents More effectively fundraise to improve camp offerings, maintain low tuition fees, and proceed with capital improvements KEY: Notice that specific tools aren’t mentioned yet here – the tools will come later. Figuring out what you want those tools to accomplish is the first priority. No Donor Management System (DMS) DMS - no training/ process DMS used effectively No/passive communications (only an annual appeal) Regular one-way communication (eNewsletters) Regular, engaging communications (eNews, Social Media, regular Events, auto-reminders of phone calls, etc.) Low effectiveness Minimum Standard Goal 1
