2 Purpose of Title I, Part A
Authorized by the Elementary and Secondary Act of (ESEA), as amended by the No child Left Behind Act of 2001 (NCLB), and again by the Every Student Succeeds Act of 2015 (ESSA). Ensure children have a fair, equal, and significant opportunity to obtain a high-quality education; and Reach, at a minimum, proficiency on challenging state standards and assessments.

3 Focus of Title I Reform in high-poverty schools
Ensure student access to scientifically-based instructional strategies and challenging academic content

4 Title I School-wide Programs in ACPS
Whole school reform Integration and coordination of efforts Services are supplemental to what normally would be provided and ALL students in the school are eligible

5 Assistance for At-Risk Students
Leverage state and federal funds to address the needs of all students, with emphasis on supporting students in English, Mathematics, Science, & History to include students with disabilities, English learners, and economically disadvantaged students.

6 2017-2018 Title I, Part A Projected $1,809,442
Title I, Part A Projected $1,809, for Accomack County Public Schools School-wide programs: Accawmacke, Kegotank, Metompkin, Pungoteague Arcadia Middle and Nandua Middle Schools Funds provide/benefit: All students in the Title I school Reading and Math resource teachers (20) and instructional assistants (6) Bilingual Home-School Liaison at Priority School Professional development to include a Reading Specialist cohort & conferences Supplemental instructional resources focused on intervention Family Engagement materials and services
