People have been having problem accessing our Bivio web site. I hope that this session will solve some of those problems.

2. CINMIC Home Page
In the URL bar of your browser, type “ then press the enter key. This should bring you to our home page.
Notice site identification near the top.
Notice that you are reading our .
Members of CINMIC can log in by picking the login button at the upper right.
Everyone can look at files by picking the Files link under the Communications tab.

Files are divided into folders, just like on every computer.
I make no claim about the currency of these files.
Some of our folders are:
Documents – Legal documents about this club.
Education – Presentations given at our educational segments.
Minutes – of our monthly meetings.
Portfolio Valuation – of our holdings.
Pres. Corner – messages from our glorious leader.
S&P Reports – as uploaded by our members
SSG Archive – as uploaded by our members
Stocks to Review - as uploaded by our members
Watch List – of companies we are “watching”.

4. Pick Column Headers to Sort
Picked here
Can sort on each column by picking that column header. Reverse the direction of the sort by picking the same column again. Arrow will indicate which column is sorted and in which direction.
Columns are:
Public
Name
Owner
Last Modified
Size
Anyone can download a file checked as Public.
If a file is not checked Public, then you have to be a member of CINMIC to download it.

5. CINMIC Educational Files

I try to have presentation file for each month's educational segment uploaded. I use PPT (Powerpoint) and PDF (Acrobat) file formats.
For the Educational segments, I have prefixed the year and month that this presenation was first made to the file name. Thus, the file CyclicalStocks.ppt was first given at the March 2005 meeting.
Pick a file name to download that file.

When you pick a file, you should get prompted for the action to take. If this prompt does not appear, then your computer is susceptible to virus infection.

7. Remember where you save files!!!

Whenever you download a file, make DAMN sure you remember where you saved it.
Use the “Save In” bar to select a folder, then type the file name you wish to use in the “File Name” bar.
Pick triangle at right end of “Save In” bar to see the hierarchy of folders you are saving in. Remember each level of the hierarchy, not merely the lowest ;level folder name.
Since you or your wife stores everything in the kitchen in one drawer, you only need one folder on your computer:-) Just as the drawers in your kitchen are organized, you need to organize your files into folders of your making.

All prior pages are as a non-member would see them. These same pages look different – there are more items on each page – after a member has logged in.

9. Members Can Send messages. Create new file folders.
Upload Files into a folder.
Replace files with updated versions.
Delete files.
Mark a file or message as public or not.
Download non-public files.
Read non-public messages.
This is a partial list of actions that members can take that non-members cannot take.
A member who has not yet logged in is treated like a non-member. You are treated like a member only after you log in.

Members see more columns for each file
Delete (check files to delete then pick “Apply Changes” at bottom of page.
A column of actions to take: rename, move, upload, new folder, replace as appropriate.
