3 Microsoft Teams “Microsoft Teams is the ultimate messaging app for your organization—a workspace for real-time collaboration and communication, meetings, file and app sharing, and even the occasional emoji! All in one place, all in the open, all accessible to everyone.” Launched in March 2017 Part of the Office 365 suite of apps Apps are no longer their own entities. But, a productive, collaborative environment. Up to 5,000 members on a team.

7 Microsoft Teams Overview What do I get?
A new Office 365 group A SharePoint Online site and document library to store team files An Exchange Online shared mailbox and calendar A OneNote notebook Office 365 group When you create a team, on the backend, you’re creating an Office 365 Group and the associated SharePoint document library and OneNote notebook. If the person creating the team is an owner of an existing Office 365 Public or Private Group, they can add Teams functionality to the group if it has less than 5000 people and has never been added to Teams. This creates one default General channel in which chat messages, documents, OneNote, and other objects reside.

You can now post a message to multiple channels in a single step. Channels can be part of the same team or a different one. Additionally, any edits that you make to the post will be reflected across all channels. – July 2019 Channel Moderation - Channel moderation gives team owners and members who have been added as moderators exclusive rights to create new posts in the channel and control whether team members can reply. - July 2019 Teams Real Time Presence - happening in real time meaning that when users ‘presence is changing, other users can see this change right away – end of August 2019 Give Feedback - Simply navigate to the "Help" menu and select "Give Feedback". – Aug 2019 Live captions in Teams meetings - This feature enables meeting participants to view captions during a Teams meeting. Supported spoken languages in 1st release: English – Aug 2019 Shared links - You can now create a shareable link for any file stored in Teams and directly set the appropriate permissions. Additionally, you can also set permissions for files stored in SharePoint or OneDrive while composing a private chat or starting a channel conversation.
