5. Regulatory Background In order to avoid accidents and incidents involving dangerous goods in air transportation, the United Nation’s Committee of Experts (UN CoE) and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) have issued recommended procedures for dangerous goods transportation to ICAO, the International Civil Aviation Organization. The IAEA recommendations cover the transportation of radioactive material, whilst the recommended procedures by UN CoE deal with all other kinds of dangerous goods.
