1 Welcome! Have you ever checked out books with your RebelCard? If not, please take your card to the circulation desk and ask them to activate your barcode! Do you have an ACE account? If yes, please use it to log into a computer. No ACE? Find a temporary login on the whiteboard Please go to my.endnote.com and set up a free EndNote Basic account.

Find About Literature Reviews tab and open Example Lit Review: Principal Turnover (Rangel 2017). Skim the introduction and methods sections of this article. Put your notebook on your monitor when done. How would you describe what you see here? Does her method differ from the expectations for your EDA 707 literature review? What is unclear or confusing?

3 USING YOUR OWN EXPERIENCE
Look under the Methods section on the Rangel review and find the citation that refers to the method she has chosen. Find the original publication that describes this method. Put your notebook on your monitor when done.

4 Set Google scholar preferences
Go to scholar.google.com and log in if you aren’t already logged in Find the “hamburger menu” on the upper left and pick Library Links Type UNLV and select Find Text at UNLV (and Proquest if you want) Put your notebook on your monitor when done.

5 Set UP AN INTERLIBRARY LOAN ACCOuNT
You need an activated barcode for this step! Return to Scroll down on the Welcome tab and find Interlibrary Loan under the sticker Follow the First Time User prompts to create a username and password. Put your notebook on your monitor when done.

6 CONSIDeR A SEARCH LOG Find the Example search log on Record key concepts and brainstorm search terms in the first tab Later, you can use the second tab to record how your searches perform Put your notebook on your monitor when done.

7 Search for relevant citations
Search ERIC for articles relevant to your topic Notice subject terms underneath the title – possible new search terms Evaluate whether they are reporting on original research or not Save citations you want to keep in the yellow folder We’ll reconvene at 10:35

8 Search for relevant citations SOME MORE
Try some of the advanced search strategies from the video Add Education Full Text, Professional Development Collection or other relevant EBSCO databases to the search Search articles relevant to your topic Evaluate whether they are reporting on original research or not Save citations you want to keep in the yellow folder

9 EXPORT EBSCO FOLDER TO ENDNOTE
You need a my.endnote.com login for this step! Open the yellow folder and SELECT the checkmark next to all items Choose Direct Export to EndNote Web on the right and click Save Check your Endnote Basic account to confirm the citations were imported Put your notebook on your monitor when done.

10 INSTALL Endnote x9 Return to https://guides.library.unlv.edu/eda707
Go to the X9 and Kopernio tab and pick X9 installers Download x9 for Windows and run the installer Right-click the WINDOW menu in the lower left and pick RUN Type Endnote. X9 will start up and start giving you orders. Follow them, including creating a Kopernio login. Be sure to enter your my.endnote.com account credentials when it ask for SYNC preferences Put your notebook on your monitor when done.
