In your notebook, summarize the battle, include the leaders if possible, the description and outcome of the battle(s), and anything relevant to the battle.
Read the textbook with the students. Stop and discuss the information with the students. 10 minutes for each battle. Write the information down on the board with the students (We do together)

The purpose of reading is to examine the battle of Sabine Pass
In your notebook, summarize the battle, include the leaders if possible, the description and outcome of the battle(s), and anything relevant to the battle.
This time the students will work together with a partner looking for the information. Call on students to give you the information to write on the board (the students with a partner)
