2 College Research Presentation - Guidelines -
You and your partner must prepare a Powerpoint slideshow related to college/university of your choosing. You and your partner will present the slideshow to the class as your final exam grade. This is a 300 pt. assignment. You will receive two grades: One for the slideshow One for the presentation I will provide a copy of the grading rubric next week.

You must use the slides provided in this template, and it is expected that you will find all of the information requested, unless you have spoken to me about it. You will find a majority of your information by visiting “What’s Next Illinois?” and the college’s/university’s website, but you might find yourself needing to make a phone call to someone at the college/university for information.

4 College Research Presentation - Guidelines -
You will be allotted five minutes to present to the class. You must dress in professional attire for your presentation. You should rehearse your presentation prior to your presentation date to ensure you come across as well-prepared and informed.

Size of student body: Undergraduate students Graduate students Student body broken down by ethnicity Ethnicity #1 Ethnicity #2 Etc. Calendar Time frame for typical school year (e.g., Sept. – May) Duration of term (e.g., quarters or semesters system)

7 Academics Which program(s) are the most popular (highest number of enrolled students)? Which program(s) are world renown?

8 Athletics School colors / mascot? Athletic(s) it’s best known for?
List other types of athletics offered at school

9 Other Student Activities
List any other student activities at the school (e.g., student government, student newspaper, etc.)

10 Admission Requirements
GPA requirement? ACT / SAT requirement? Date by which ACT / SAT test scores must be received by school? Class rank? High school course requirements? Filing deadline to enroll for Fall 2013? (e.g., if the general filing deadline is January 15th, then the filing deadline to enroll for Fall 2013 is January 15, 2013.)

Most recent acceptance statistics: Average number of total applicants? Average number of applicants accepted? Percent of applicants who graduated from public high schools Academic criteria considered when reviewing applications? (class rank, GPA, etc.) Non-academic criteria considered when reviewing applications? (e.g., sports, clubs, awards, etc.)

Additional book fees? Additional room/board fees? Additional miscellaneous expenses? Average total cost for one year ? (add the tuition and fee amounts from above to arrive at this amount)
