4 The Vision Help businesses achieve continuous improvement and productivity gains from their labelling process. We call this “print productivity“ NiceLabel exists to help, companies of all sizes, deliver continuous improvement of their labelling process. We call this “print productivity” As a truly agnostic company, we provide flexible solutions that empower our customers to choose the partners and services that best meet their needs.

5 The value of print productivity
Increase agility - Empower business user to design labels Eliminate IT help or knowledge of printer commands Reduce and consolidate label variations Universal - Portable across any brand or resolution of printers Dynamic - Move, resize, hide or format objects at print-time Data-driven – Business rules help reduce variations Mitigate risk and optimize processes Integrate with master data and business systems Eliminate mislabeling and unplanned downtime Streamline label lifecycle and improve productivity We do not serve “lock in” coded template strategies. We drive the proliferation of choice and cost reduction. Who would think of coding word or PDF documents? Who would settle with having different documents for printing on HP, Canon, Lexmark and other brands, who would have IT guy or external company modifying the font on the word document and paying $$$ for that, and so on? We do not serve “lock in” integration strategies. On the contrary, we drive the proliferation of choice and cost reduction. Do you need: …...need an IT support to change your labels? … need to care which printer brand you use? … have a separate template static for each label you print? … print from a design environment? … manually enter critical information for your labels?

9 Your challenges Business today realize their fragmented labelling processes and IT systems leave them ill-equipped to compete in today's dynamic, global environment. Many are now planning big changes to their labelling systems and processes in order to achieve greater agility Two of the biggest trends we see in these labelling system modernization efforts are standardization and centralization. Many companies have disparate systems that have been acquired through mergers or exist as part of legacy software implementations. Having labelling processes touch multiple systems introduces a host of problems like label errors, non-compliance, production downtime and product recalls. What’s more, maintaining multiple systems is very taxing on corporate IT resources. More and more companies are standardizing on a single platform for labelling that integrates with core business systems to streamline the entire process. Many times with legacy labelling software, companies find that label data resides in a variety of locations, making it difficult to search and index labels, facilitate label changes and approvals, capture and report on label printing history, analyze printer and device usage and manage changes. Many companies host labelling at multiple sites and locations, adding another layer of complexity. Companies are shifting to a centralized labelling system to address these challenges.

10 Why are companies modernizing labeling?
Regulatory and compliance standards Customer responsiveness Operational efficiency Configurability and segmentation Supply chain collaboration Brand consistency and protection Business continuity and disaster recovery Legacy system modernization Regulatory and compliance labelling and regulatory compliance issues go hand-in-hand Medical Device – UDI / Food & Bev – GS1, Allergens / Chemical – GHS & Reach Regulations continue to grow and evolve You need to stay on top of these issues NiceLabel provides the power and flexibility to produce complaints labels that you industry demands Customer Responsiveness - Be more responsive to your customer needs Make real-time changes faster Help you win new business opportunities Bring products into new regions faster Avoid fines or business losses Saves thousands or millions of dollars by being more customer responsiveness Operational efficiency Reduce production line setup and downtime Eliminate mislabeling and product recalls Configurability and segmentation Supply chains are becoming more tailored by product line, geography or channel labelling needs to be increasingly configurable, tailorable to support varied requirements Collaboration across the supply chain Supply chains are increasing global – importance of collaboration increases Extending labelling to business partners - Partners, suppliers, vendors - for greater flexibility and efficiency Brand consistency and protection A label represents your product and your brand Enabling brand consistency is essential Maintain control over your brand over all locations and geography dispersed areas of the world Counterfeiting and illicit trade is a big issue – drugs, parts, cigarettes This is a public safety hazard, a threat to the brand, reputation and revenue of a company Business continuity – routine impacts on global supply chain Widespread natural disasters Geo-political unrest Have a global centralized approach to labelling that offers the flexibility to quickly respond and keep and ensure production doesn’t stop More templates More standards and regulations More print technologies used More users involved More software systems in plance More locations More collaboration (with external suppliers and customers) Mergers & Acquisitions More everything!? Multiple label design programs Too many label formats to manage No central label format database No access control / no revision control Mislabelling, risks of human errors No visibility – no centralised logging No user or device usage reports Inability to rapidly resolve printer issues Label change requests slow to execute Long production setup and downtime

11 Today‘s labelling challenges
Design Print Manage Solutions from multiple vendors Errors printing from designers No user access control Requires help from IT, programmers or external consultants Easy to make mistakes resulting in data-entry errors No centralized storage Multiple people designing labels Mislabeling and many scanning discrepancies No digital label catalog Many static label templates Label picking and shipping errors No revision control Inconsistent designs Material & labor waste No quality assurance Weeks to design new labels Unplanned downtime No centralised print history or audit trails Product recalls No analytics Compliance or regulatory fines No device management No non-production environment Wrong batch, wrong quantity, unreadable labels Not able to offer full traceability and correct stock count due to lack of scanning No central control of labels No central control over production of Labels Easy to print wrong labels

12 Solution: Label Management System (LMS Pro / LMS Enterprise)
Every business needs a standardized labeling solution Large enterprises need a global labeling solution Just like everybody needs and ERP, they need an LMS. NiceLabel’s Label Management Solution (LMS) is a scalable multi-user design, print and management solution that provides full label lifecycle management. The NiceLabel LMS allows companies to adopt best practices improving print productivity and reducing cost – essentially by aligning systems, processes and people to do more, faster, with less. The capabilities of NiceLabel’s LMS extend beyond simple label design to include centralized document storage and an electronic label catalogue, version approvals and revision history, print history, role-based access control, printer management and alerts, printer analytics, a print application builder and an integration tool set. Now companies have a way to centrally manage all aspects of labelling from a standardized HTML5 based solution via a web browser. The benefits are many: 1000’s less label templates to manage, fewer systems and processes to support, reduced production setup and downtime, reduced mislabeling, compliance with regulations, fewer product recalls, improved customer responsiveness, the ability to do smaller production runs and faster product launches. NNiceLabel LMS is a multi-user label design, printing and management solution that helps business and enterprises adopt best practices. LMS includes centralized document storage, role-based access, revisions and approvals, print history and printer alerts; all in a modern HTML5 user interface. Print from fully configurable on-demand data-entry forms or automate label printing from your existing business applications. Adopt labelling best practices to reduce the complexity and risks while increasing productivity, quality and agility of your labelling. The cost of not reassessing the demands of labelling in the modern supply chain is very high. Mislabelling, inefficient offline labelling processes, a myriad of redundant and unnecessary label designs, and poor integration of multiple labelling data sources add up to wasted labour resources, customer fines, returns, delayed shipments, and ultimately loss of business,

20 LMS Application builder (PowerForms)

21 Auto-generated all-in-one print forms
Print button with an icon Quick access to printer settings Variable fields Preview of the complete print job

22 Application builder – Configure. Don’t code.
This powerful functionality removes the need for programmers to develop their own custom printing front-end applications, which are difficult and costly to maintain. Business users can rapidly create a printing solution that streamlines label printing, prevents errors and mislabelling, reduces labour costs and improves overall print productivity. Reduce manual printing efforts and achieve new levels of accuracy Businesses can significantly reduce manual printing effort and achieve new levels of accuracy and control by using PowerForms unmatched on-demand print capabilities. PowerForms features empower business users to create custom printing applications, streamlining complex printing processes and eliminating errors. Prevent printing errors Users can initiate on-demand printing via a simple scan, touch or minimal data entry and preview the results to ensure accuracy and speed of printing. Label preview offers a visual aide, displaying the entire print job to provide verification of labels to reduce the occurrence of mislabelling. This all helps remove the “guess work” from the print operator while reducing the occurrence of mislabelling. Simplify the print process for nonskilled workers Make it easy for nonskilled or seasonal workers to print your labels. Build a printing solution that uses images and icons to replace text or use buttons and touchscreen to remove the need for keyboard skills. You can rapidly on-board new print operators with minimal to no training. Streamline complex printing processes Custom forms allow end users to make the necessary decisions to print exactly what they want, when they want it, without deviating from a standard process or workflow. This reduces the manual printing efforts, improves the speed of printing and print productivity. Maintain label integrity When operators use printing forms, they don't have access to the label template, so they can't accidentally or intentionally modify the label layout or important label content. Minimize manual data entry Instead of requiring print operators to manually change label content, connect labels to a database and simplify data entry and selection. Consider initiating on-demand printing via a simple scan or press of a touch screen. Responsive, touchscreen-ready interface Resizable buttons and other controls enable you to create a form that adapts automatically to any screen resolution or size. Made for labelling Real-time data preview inside of the same forms ensures the user can verify if the label template and data are correct before printing.

PowerForms Web is a web application that allows all manual printing applications to be centrally deployed and scaled business wide with a single click The PowerForms Web module helps you centrally deploy on-demand labelling applications across all of your workstations, all of your remote locations and beyond to your suppliers, contract manufacturers or 3rd party logistics providers (3PL). Next-generation web technology allows you to deploy consistent labelling solutions from five users to many thousands of users in seconds. Thin client-side printing application NiceLabel PowerForms Web is the only Web printing solution that utilizes client-side processing and client-side printer management. Client-side processing means that print streams and print previews are generated by the local PC and not by the remote server that introduces a time lag and network traffic. Client-side printer management allows local users to use any Microsoft Windows printer driver, control the settings locally and not be restricted by what printers the server supports. PowerForms Web requires a thin client application to be installed only on first-time use. The installation does not require administrator privileges. Extend to suppliers, contract manufacturers or 3PLs Collaborate with your suppliers to eliminate the need for goods-in relabelling. Give contract manufacturers and 3PLs access to labelling centrally controlled by you. Business partners can have access to manual web printing solution or they can integrate the web printing form with their ERP system.

26 LMS Integration system (Automation Pro / Enterprise)

27 Integration system (server side)
Print from existing business systems Includes ABAP package for SAP Prebuilt templates and connector for Oracle Data mapping provides integration without coding for any other business system Print from iOS or Android devices Web printing (platform agnostic) Service bus for additional / non-printing integration purposes All-in-one print server The NiceLabel Automation Enterprise module includes business connectors, data transformation, business rules, business workflows and a print server in a single service. All transactions and data processing happens in the same memory space. In-memory processing is 100x faster than transmitting data between applications and servers. The all-in-one architecture also reduces downtime and simplifies maintenance. 64-bit architecture provides unmatched performance and reliability Automation was architected from the ground up for the modern 64-bit multi-core architecture to provide the fastest, most reliable and efficient printing capability. Automation is a 100% native 64-bit application that eliminates the need for additional technology layers required by the previous generation of 32-bit applications. Automation includes NiceLabel’s next-generation “64-bit print engine" that takes advantage of new technologies to maximize print productivity while using minimum computer resources. Pre-built connectors provide seamless integration Architected and scalable to meet the integration needs of many thousands of printers, Automation provides unsurpassed connectivity with any application to drive barcode labeling, whether via the latest web services technology or with the pre-built integration to SAP® and Oracle applications. Data mapping provides integration without coding NiceLabel Automation accepts and transforms data in any format so you don't have to customize your existing business systems or applications. The built-in data mapping tool helps you easily extract and map data from common formats like XML, CSV or fixed-width text files. The mapping tool also supports legacy system modernization by supporting data in unstructured formats such as legacy reports or printer commands. Configurable business rules and workflows Automation's business rules engine allows print requests to be dynamically changed based on business logic that is applied to inbound dynamic data. By processing the inbound data, the business rules engine can select the applicable workflow to run and execute the logic to perform e.g. requesting data from additional data sources, manipulating and modifying label data, setting attributes, selecting one or many label templates, targeting specific printers, and executing additional workflows. Generic family printer drivers Automation supports generic 203, 300, 400 and 600 dpi printer drivers that can be used across your entire printer landscape. TCP or IoT addresses are passed as variables meaning that you don’t have to manage 100s or thousands of separate printer drivers on the Automation server. Load balancing and failover Scalability and reliability are built into the Automation architecture. It provides failover and high availability options required for business-critical operation. Automation supports load balancing to optimize performance in high volume environments.

32 LMS Document management system (Control Center Pro / Enterprise)

33 Web based - Document management system
Users & roles Digital catalog of all documents Version control Manual printing solutions (Web printing) Approval & publishing workflows Audit trails, print history & reprinting Devices Quality assurance NiceLabel’s Document Management System (DMS), built for the needs of labelling, is a HTML5 web application that stores all documents in a centralized indexed database repository. The web application provides a browser-based user interface that enables business-wide access and faster design and approval workflows without the need to install or maintain any software on local workstations. NiceLabel’s DMS is named “Control Center”. Control Center enables organizations to meet compliance requirements in medical, pharmaceutical, biotech, and manufacturing industries. It ensures compliance with regulatory requirements as well as internal security and quality standards. Control Center delivers a secure central storage repository, file archiving, file versioning with visual version comparisons, label approval workflows and print history. Backed by a common enterprise-class database, Control Center aggregates print history, label metadata, user credentials and more.

34 Centralized storage, indexing and search
Secure centralized storage All label documents are stored in a central SQL database (repository) Storage users check-in and check-out documents to prevent conflicts if multiple individuals might want to edit the same document at the same time. Label files that are in the process of being modified are not accessible for editing by other users. Label files that are in the process of being modified are not available at other manufacturing sites. Unique indexing and search All elements contained in the label template are indexed for fast and easy search allowing your business users to quickly find, visually compare, and modify templates. Search not just label names, but also label content such as text fields, variables, fonts, and barcodes. Database storage returns instant query results across the entire labeling landscape helping you avoid redundant or duplicated label variations. Centralized storage, indexing and search

35 Manage users & roles Secure role based access control (user management) Role-based access control (RBAC) regulates access to documents and resources based on the roles of individual users. RBAC is supported using Windows Active Directory authentication. NiceLabel offers administrators limitless ability to provide the access and provisioning that users require. At the same time, administrators have the control required to ensure that users only have access to specific software features (e.g. label design, manual printing) and documents (label templates) that they need. The system facilitates restricted access for defined tasks to authorized personnel. Manage users & roles

36 Manage version control
Automatic version control Version control allows multiple people to make changes to a document without the fear of overwriting a previous version. It also helps you track and keep a history of all changes. Thee centralized repository contains all current documents and also all historic revisions. *Only in Enterprise edition

37 Indexing and search All elements contained in the label template are indexed for fast and easy search allowing your business users to quickly find, visually compare, and modify templates. Search not just label names, but also label content such as text fields, variables, fonts, and barcodes. Database storage returns instant query results across the entire labelling landscape helping you avoid redundant or duplicated label variations.

38 Secure, electronic approval and publishing workflows
Secure, electronic approval workflows The publishing approval workflow automates the routing of label documents and quality control managers for review and approval. The stakeholders are notified via . They can approve or reject changes from the Web application. Only labels that are approved and released by a QA or person assigned by a QA may be allocated to and activated in a manufacturing site. The system is compliant with FDA part 11 rule. The system facilitates electronic signatures complaint with part 11. The release workflow is defined (who must approve) and the system enforces that only individuals with specific access/profile are allowed to perform release (publishing) of the final label. Release requires electronic signature. *Only in Enterprise edition

39 Label comparison provides quality assurance
The label compare feature automatically compares two labels or revisions and graphically highlights the differences. This lets you easily see differences that you would not see with the human eye and helps you achieve a previously unavailable level of quality control, label data accuracy and template consolidation. The system can compare files, text or any other changes and can provide a graphical comparison and also provide comparison reports. *Only in Enterprise edition

40 Manage devices and print queues
Device management and alerts help avoid unplanned downtime Device management and alerts provides a real-time overview of all connected printers, active print jobs and connected clients allowing IT support to quickly resolve downtime issues. Devices can automatically alert error condition via notification. You can also stop, move or reprioritise print queues

41 Manage audit trails and print history
History & reports provide full traceability History and reports provide full traceability of all label printing and all label changes. All records are kept for your or agency review The system facilities audit trail - a log for all labels printed with user id.

42 LMS Non-production environment & CTS
NiceLabel LMS includes a development environment (where changes are originally made) as well as a production environment (what end users use). Additional third or fourth tier environments are licensed separately. Change and transport system The NiceLabel Change and Transport System (CTS) is a tool that helps you transport changes between non production and production environments. The system also helps you transport changes across decentralized servers. The system “pushes out” (synchronized) new updated documents to relevant sites.

43 Non-production environment
One non-production environment included Label and application designer Document management system Web printing Integration system Extra tiers available on request *Only in Enterprise edition Non production environment NiceLabel LMS includes a development environment (where changes are originally made) as well as a production environment (what end users use). Additional third or fourth tier environments are licensed separately SAP business will typically want 3 environments (so and additional non production environment will be needed) (Dev [Development[->QAS [Quality Assurance]->Prod [Production]) Some pharma companies want 4 tiers. The deployment model that is most often used by larger organizations is to have a highly available centralized environment containing the master templates and controlling access to those templates.  This also allows for different environments like test, development, QA, and production environments so that way all companies sites are staying in synch with master data.   There are several benefits to adopting this model. Different centralized environments can have a sandbox environment where label templates can be continually evaluated for new products and new content, and they can be promoted to the next environment, QA or Production, keeping it in line with master data. You never want to have a new product label that makes its way into production without the formal review and approval cycles. If you had a label that was not ready to go live and it somehow finds its way onto the product floor, the business is at risk for fines and customer issues. When your labelling is standardized, even if it’s distributed locally versus completely centralized, it’s the same technology platform so the IT staff can support the product in a predictable fashion. Also, when there’s access to central environment there’s still opportunity to have a distributed copy of the solution for backup purposes. If for some reason you get cut off from corporate headquarters because of interruptions to the network, you still have a solution and print labels on demand, just in time, at the regional level. Having a standard solution that is supported both internally and by the software vendor is important and having a centralized, scalable approach to labelling is critical in managing large scale, global deployments.

44 Change and transport system (CTS)
Change and transport system The NiceLabel Change and Transport System (CTS) is a tool that helps you transport changes between non production and production environments. The system also helps you transport across non-centralized on premise servers. PROD QAS *Only in Enterprise edition DEV
