3. Integers: the set of numbers containing 0 and all positive and negative whole numbers
Examples: 0, 5, 20, -6, -4, 10, -10
Non-Examples: ½, .33, -.33, -3/4

4. Positive Numbers: greater than 0 (+)
ex) 7, +9, 10, +11
Words associated with positive: gain, raise, deposit, above, credit, rise, increase, bought, in the black, savings
Negative Numbers: less than 0 (-)
ex) -13, -15, -6, -9
Words associated with negative: loss, below, withdrawal, pay cut, bankruptcy, debit, fall, decrease, sold, in the red

5. Opposites: numbers that are the same distance from 0 but on different sides of 0 on a number line
Example: 5 is the opposite of -5
-10 is the opposite of 10
*0 is neither positive nor negative*
Number line: is a line that extends left and right forever that has positive numbers on the right and negative numbers on the left. The number zero is located in the middle of the number line.

6. Graphing Integers
On a number line, you put a ‘dot’ on the line where the number is you are graphing.
On a coordinate plane, all negatives are to the left of and below (0,0)
