1. Exemplification of Examination Performance (EEP) GCE AS LEVEL – SUMMER SERIES 2017

2. Background
Summer Series 2017 examinations were the first examination sittings for re-vised GCE specifications
CCEA is providing EEP for GCE AS specifications in early 2018
EEP is being provided for each revised specification in an EEP booklet, available on each specification microsite under the EEP tab
EEP is being provided from candidate scripts at Grade A only
EEP is being provided for all examination papers and for those questions on the examination papers where candidates have provided CCEA with ‘written permission’ to use their answers

3. Production of EEP
Exemplar answers to examination questions were identified from the Summer 2017 series of examinations
Permission to use candidates answers for EEP was sought from all candidates whose scripts were identified as exemplars
Copyright approval was sought to ensure that examination paper questions could be used for EEP purposes

4. Production of EEP cont.
EEP booklets were produced to include the following content:
Exam Question
Exemplar answer by candidate
Examiner commentary on candidate answer and how the answer meets requirements of the highest band range in the Mark Scheme
EEP booklets have been quality assured for use as exemplification of examination performance
EEP booklets – as completed – have been uploaded to specification microsites

5. EEP webinars
EEP webinars are provided to assist teachers to understand how an answer given by a candidate meets the requirements of the Mark Scheme at the highest band range
Prior to webinars:
EEP booklets have been uploaded to subject microsites for teachers and students to view
availability of the EEP booklets and details of subject webinars has been communicated to all centres
this presentation has been uploaded to the subject microsite EEP tab - for centres to view
centres were invited to participate in EEP webinars

To facilitate questions from centres
To provide answers to questions asked – at the webinar or on the microsite following the webinar
To contribute to a list of FAQs on EEP for the subject
